To call Smith Rock a world class climbing destination would be an understatement. Soul-center of the sport climbing universe sounds more like it to me.
There's no other place with the concentration, volume, and variety of Smith. Period. If there's another area in North America with 1,700 routes accessed from the same parking lot, somebody let me in on it.

It's summertime. Whether I like it or not. Time to trade in the Gore-tex and ice axe for inflatable floaty things, even out the farmer tan, and find some shade to sip some coldys.

The guided trips at Smith Rock Climbing Guides are in full swing now, and the sun feels full strength at the cliffs. Steelhead Falls makes the best after-work retreat.
