Tucked away in the Hood River valley, with a breathtaking view of Mt. Hood, sits a quaint little retreat sprung from the grit and imagination of innkeepers Linda Kremin and Lee Jenkins. The spacious deck of the Panorama Lodge rewards visitors with a sweeping display of fruit orchards in the valley below.
On my quest for vintage postcards, I came across this lovely, lovely postcard from the collection of Lyn Topinka. The original photo was taken looking east from Crown Point on the Columbia River, circa 1920. The “Penny Postcard” appears to be hand tinted in minute detail with a palette of subtle, muted colours.
